Hemkund Sahib, nestled in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, India, is one of the most revered Sikh pilgrimage sites. Situated at an altitude of 4,329 meters (14,200 feet) in the majestic Garhwal Himalayas, the site is renowned for its stunning natural beauty and spiritual significance. The name "Hemkund" means "Lake of Snow," reflecting the glacial lake's pristine waters that lie beside the Gurudwara, surrounded by seven snow-capped peaks. Hemkund Sahib is dedicated to Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Sikh Guru, who is believed to have meditated here in his previous life.
