Rudraprayag
The Triyuginarayan Temple Trek in Uttarakhand is a spiritually significant and scenic journey that leads to the ancient temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu, located at about 1,980 meters altitude in the Rudraprayag district. According to Hindu mythology, this temple marks the sacred spot where Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati were married, with Lord Vishnu as the witness, and it is famed for the eternal sacred fire that has been burning here since their divine wedding. The trek usually starts from the village of Sonprayag and covers a moderate 5 to 6 kilometers through peaceful pine forests and beautiful Himalayan landscapes, making it accessible for most trekkers. Best visited between April and June or September and November, the trek combines natural beauty with deep cultural and spiritual significance, offering pilgrims and adventurers alike a memorable experience of devotion and connection with the Garhwal Himalayas.
