Kartik Swami Temple
Perched atop a ridge at an altitude of 3,050 meters, the Kartik Swami Temple in Uttarakhand is a hidden gem dedicated to Lord Kartikeya, the son of Lord Shiva. Located near Kanasar village in Rudraprayag district, this sacred shrine offers a perfect blend of spirituality, trekking, and panoramic Himalayan beauty.
To reach the temple, devotees embark on a scenic 3 km uphill trek from the village of Kanak Chauri, passing through dense oak and rhododendron forests. The reward at the summit is divine—360° views of majestic snow-capped peaks like Nanda Devi, Trishul, Chaukhamba, and Bandarpunch, along with the peaceful presence of the only temple in North India dedicated to Kartikeya.
Whether you seek blessings, stunning photography, or a quiet retreat in nature, the Kartik Swami Temple offers an unforgettable experience—far from the crowds, yet close to the divine.
