Govind Pashu Vihar National Park
Govind Pashu Vihar National Park and Sanctuary, nestled in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, India, is a pristine expanse of the Garhwal Himalayas. Established in 1955 and later designated as a national park, it spans approximately 958 square kilometers, encompassing altitudes ranging from 1,400 to 6,323 meters. Its diverse flora transitions from chir pine and deodar forests to alpine meadows adorned with rhododendrons and wildflowers. The park also serves as a base for popular treks like Har Ki Dun and Kedarkantha, offering adventurers a blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage. Accessible via Naitwar, with the nearest airport and railway station in Dehradun, the park is best visited between April–June and September–November.
