Baraadsar Lake
Bharadsar Lake Trek is a stunning high-altitude adventure in Uttarakhand, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty, spiritual serenity, and offbeat exploration. Situated at an elevation of around 4,300 meters, this trek takes you through dense forests, alpine meadows, remote villages, and rugged mountain trails before reaching the sacred glacial lake of Bharadsar. Ideal for experienced trekkers seeking solitude and raw Himalayan landscapes, the trek provides breathtaking views of peaks like Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, and Black Peak. With fewer crowds and unspoiled terrain, it’s a hidden gem in the Garhwal Himalayas.
Start early from Dehradun. Enjoy a scenic drive via Mussoorie, Purola, and Netwar. Reach Sankri, the last road-head village. Stay in a homestay/guesthouse with views of snow-capped peaks.
A short drive to Taluka. Begin trekking through forests and alongside the Supin River. Reach Seema – a small settlement and popular camping area.
Trek uphill to Devsu Bugyal, a beautiful meadow surrounded by pine and oak trees. Witness a lush alpine landscape dotted with wildflowers. Camp under the stars.
The trail becomes steeper and rocky. Ascend slowly toward the base camp near the lake. Cross streams and boulders, with views of high ridges and peaks.
Trek to Bharadsar Tal, a glacial lake with spiritual importance. Spend time near the lake, meditate, take photographs, and enjoy the solitude. Return to base camp for the night.
Retrace the route down through meadows and forests. Camp near Seema again.
Final leg of the trek. Reach Taluka and drive back to Dehradun by evening.
