Chopta Chandrashila Trek
The Chopta Chandrashila Trek is a scenic and spiritually enriching journey in Uttarakhand's Garhwal region, ideal for beginners and seasoned trekkers alike. Starting from the picturesque meadows of Chopta, the trek leads to Tungnath, the highest Shiva temple in the world, and further to Chandrashila Peak at 3,690 meters, offering panoramic views of Nanda Devi, Trishul, Chaukhamba, and other Himalayan giants. The trek, usually completed over 2–3 days, is known for its breathtaking alpine forests, peaceful surroundings, and the optional detour to the serene Deoria Tal lake. Best experienced between April and November, it offers snow-trekking options in winter months.
