Chitai Golu Devta Temple, located about 8 to 10 kilometers from Almora in Uttarakhand, is a highly revered shrine dedicated to Golu Devta, believed to be an incarnation of Lord Shiva in his Gaur Bhairav form. Known as the God of Justice in the Kumaon region, Golu Devta is worshipped by thousands of devotees who believe that their sincere prayers and petitions will be answered. One of the temple’s most unique and striking features is the presence of thousands of bells of varying sizes, offered by devotees as tokens of gratitude once their wishes are fulfilled. Many also write their prayers or legal grievances on paper and tie them within the temple premises. Set amidst pine-covered hills, the temple offers a tranquil and deeply spiritual atmosphere.
